Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort & Spa is on Koh Yao Yai in Phang Nga, rather than mainland Phuket or neighbouring Koh Yao Noi. Its sea-facing hillside setting can be a major attraction. It also makes island arrival and movement within the resort part of the booking decision.
Timber design and distinct categories
The supplied photographs show a waterfront boardwalk and an open-sided seating area with substantial timber detailing. They establish a strong visual character without showing the exact bedroom or pool attached to every booking.
The official site separates deluxe rooms, larger suites and pool villas. Its seawater pool-villa description includes a private pool and outdoor sunken bathtub. Those belong to that category and should not be transferred to ordinary deluxe rooms.
The hillside is a real trade-off
Fackmann’s February 2026 Ocean Pool Villa stay praised the villa and outlook but found buggy dependence inconvenient and some meal service slow. Andreas M’s December 2025 stay also liked the private-pool villa while finding transport and breakfast busy.
Sandra L’s January 2026 stay reached a different balance: the large pool villa and sea view made for a relaxing visit despite shuttle use. These accounts show why the same large hillside setting can suit one traveller and frustrate another.
Arrange arrival and assess mobility
The resort lists boat arrangements from Ao Po Grand Marina. Confirm the transfer terms attached to the actual rate, including cost and required arrival details. No fixed boat or buggy timetable should be inferred from another guest’s stay.
Ask about stairs and the route between the chosen room, dining areas and pools if mobility matters. Santhiya is most relevant when time at an island resort is itself the plan. A sea-view image alone is too little information for choosing the room and its access.
