The exterior photograph shows the building above a visibly sloping approach. The room image opens towards a balcony and greenery, with a small sitting area inside. Together, they explain both the appeal and the practical question more clearly than a generic description of an island retreat.
The official Moonstone Studio and Villa site separates Studio, Studio Apartment, Big Studio and Villa categories. A photograph or review of one should not be transferred to another. Confirm the private outdoor space and view attached to the room you choose.
Guest accounts reinforce the hillside point
Pierino Randisi’s December 2024 Tripadvisor account liked the outlook towards Samui, the clean room, balcony, refrigerator and kettle, and the pool area. Another December 2024 guest, Bert, praised the host and pool but emphasised the climbing involved.
That account also reported no meals on site during the visit. It is a dated observation rather than a permanent restaurant policy. If breakfast or dining at the property matters, check the current arrangement instead of building the day around assumptions.
A studio stay to choose deliberately
The official site lists air conditioning, Wi-Fi and shared pool facilities. It does not make every studio a private-pool villa. Choose the category for the sleeping arrangement, outlook and space you require, then ask about the steps or slope between the entrance and room.
Moonstone is most appealing when the hillside is an acceptable part of enjoying the setting. If repeated climbs or an uneven approach would make outings difficult, obtain room-specific access information before paying. The view and the route belong to the same decision, rather than treating the hill as a surprise after arrival.
